Updates
The Chrome Web Store version updates itself. Manual installs get a banner in the panel.
Chrome Web Store: automatic
If you installed SnipeBid from the Chrome Web Store, Chrome updates it for you. There is nothing to do. The update banner never shows for store installs.
After an update, a web app tab that was already open still runs the old copy. The panel then shows The extension was updated. This tab is still running the old version and can’t save anything. and stops the bot. Press Reload page.
Manual install: the update banner
A copy loaded from the zip (Unpacked in chrome://extensions) doesn’t update by itself. SnipeBid checks for a new version a few seconds after the web app loads and then every 6 hours, and shows a banner in the panel:
- Update available · v… shows what’s new, with Download, Get auto-updates (switch to the store) and How to update. ✕ hides it until the next version.
- After Download, the banner changes to Last step: unzip it, move the new
SnipeBidfolder to where the old one is and choose Replace. - Stop the bot, then press Reload SnipeBid. The extension restarts and the web app reloads with the new version. Your license and settings stay.

Required updates
Sometimes an older version can no longer be used. Then the banner says Update required and can’t be hidden, and the panel shows Update required with Get the latest version instead of the controls. Update, and everything is back as it was.
